Abstract

A patient considered incurable and inoperable, with kidney failure and a dissected aorta, was treated with homeopathic remedies. Over 5 months of treatment he improved from being carried into the consulting room to walking in without crutches. The patient was slightly built, neat, fragile looking and anxious, and at the beginning had dyspnoea, swelling, vomiting, burning pains in the legs, etc. Arnica, Arsenicum album and Berberis were prescribed at first. After a few days the Arsenicum was discontinued as anxiety had improved, and phosphorus and Ipecacuanha were prescribed for increased nausea and vomiting. A month later he was much improved and Nux vomica, Sulphur and Bryonia were prescribed. China was prescribed later which improved his weakness and vomiting. Various other remedies were given over the months, in order to deal with symptoms, such as Alfalfa M.T. to stimulate appetite, and Lycopus for heart and kidney support. He now walks and laughs a lot.
