It
is a small deciduous plant with white flowers and generally
grows in the tropical Himalayan region. The seeds are called
Indrayava or Indra's seeds in Sanskrit. Though it is
found in two varieties, white & black, but mostly white
is used for medicinal purposes. As the name suggests, it is
highly effective against dysentery especially of the chronic
form. Bark and seeds are used for the preparation of the medicine.

Dysentery
- Frequent loose stool with rumbling in abdomen with colicky
pain in navel before stool. Stool mixed with profuse mucus.
Dysentery associated with weakness emaciation, loss of appetite

persist but mucus and blood in stool has decreased.
