| Abstract |
|
120
patients aged 3 to 60 took part in an open trial from July 1995
to June 1996 at the Government Homoeopathic Hospital in Hyderabad,
India. Patients suffering from rhinitis, laryngitis, brochitis
or asthma all caused by allergic reactions were treated. Patients
were advised to avoid the cause of allergy whenever possible.
They were then treated for the acute condition followed by treatment
to remove the tendency to recurrence of the disease by constitutional
and anti-miasmatic treatment with drugs such as Calcarea carbonica,
Thuja, Psorinum and Tuberculinum.

About
75 to 80% of cases were relieved of their symptoms within a
week and Arsenicum album, Ipecacuanha, Mercurius solubilis and
Kali bochromicum were the most prescribed remedies at the acute
stage. In about 50 to 60% of cases there was no recurrence of
symptoms for the last 6 months, following constitutional and
miasmatic treatment.
