| Abstract |
|
Nux
vomica taken as a constitutional remedy, improved a man's asthma
until he was given Phosphorus 200c for influenza. Asthma returned
a few weeks later. There was discussion on the use of an acute
remedy or a chronic (constitutional) remedy. Dr H A Roberts
declared that the similimum should be prescribed at the time,
ie the acute remedy in this case. The acute remedy could be
a lower potency of a remedy complementary to the constitutional
remedy.

The
relationship between sycosis and asthma has been repeatedly
stressed. Suppression of chronic skin eruptions has been followed
by asthma. Conversely, under homoeopathic treatment amelioration
of asthma has been followed by skin eruptions especially eczema
and urticarias. The three remedies Medorrhinum, Natrum sulphuricum
and Silicea are most useful in treatment of asthma in children.
Homarus, Mephitis and Blatta orientalis were also suggested
in the discussion.
