Kent's
repertory lists over 150 remedies under the general rubric 'respiration
asthmatic' and many other remedies are listed in other asthma
headings. The author considers that in the repertories there
is no distinction made in the rubrics between asthma with reversible
airway obstruction and cardiac asthma. Children who have asthma
most frequently require Ipecuanha, Chamomilla, Natrum sulphuricum
or Pulsatilla. In adult asthmatics Arsenicum album seems the
most useful. Pointers for 9 boldface remedies for asthma rubrics
in Kent's Repertory are given.
